As a pickleball obsessed sports lover, I was excited to spend a semester researching how the media views pickleball as a professional sport. For my Advanced Sports Communication course, I analyzed media coverage to explore how journalists and news outlets talk about the sport’s rapid growth, legitimacy, and future. This project gave me the opportunity to combine my passion for pickleball with my interest in sports media and research and taught me the fundamentals of research throughout the process!
